Ms. Carolyn has been back in town for 5 years now...and still growing strong. . .

This time the retail and resale shop is called Took and Johnnies. "Took and Johnnie are my dad and mom's names," said Carolyn. "Took was my dad's nickname because he wanted to be 'took' everywhere when he was a small boy, and my mom's name was Johnnie Bell."
There's jewelry, handbags, clothing, gift items and more. "There's a real need for these," Wright-Freemyer said of consignment shops. "It's just a fun place. You never know what you'll find day-to-day in a place like this. " With every one I've had, people are happy to come in and see what I've got."

Took and Johnnies is Carolyn's 10th consignment shop. Four stores were opened and eventually sold in Texas between Aunt Elsie's Attic and Took and Johnnies. She moved back to Ruidoso just before Christmas 2010 . "I had been driving back and forth from Canyon Lake (Texas) a lot. I wanted to get back to stay. There's a lot of quaintness here. Ruidoso is such a healing place."

Carolyn Wright-Freemyer said she is always looking for better label clothing that is gently worn, if at all. And items need to be in season; of course clean and on hangers. And no missing buttons please.
Store hours are approximately 11:00(ish) a.m. to around 5:00(ish)p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. And it's "by chance" Sunday and Monday.

"Everybody that comes in is still saying 'We are so glad you are here because we love your store...it's so unique and fun, and there is always a sale.' "
